The Staff Selection Commission (Southern Region), Chennai has launched its web site today. The web site has been inaugurated by Dr. Smt. C. Tshering Misra I.A.S, Chairperson, Staff Selection Commission through Video Conferencing from National Informatics Centre Headquarters, New Delhi. A brief function was also held at the NIC, Chennai to coincide with the inauguration, by Staff Selection Commission, Chennai.
The Staff Selection Commission is functioning under the Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India. The Commission, through its various Recruitment Examinations is meeting the demands for Staff for Non-Technical Group C posts and all Group B posts in the various Central Government Departments.
The launch of the web site is part of the Commission’s ongoing process of dissemination of information and its attempt to come closer to its clientele – the aspirant candidates of the Commission’s competitive examinations and various Departments of the Central Government.
The web site provides the candidates with round-the-clock access to the Commission. It has the following features designed to give the candidates information on :
(a) the Commission’s examination and interview schedules
(b) downloading facility for applications for recruitment examinations and the proformas of various certificates required to be enclosed with such applications for claiming fee concession, age relaxation and reservation etc, viz., SC/ST,OBC, etc. and
(c) the status of their application to the Commission’s recruitment examinations;
(d) the results of various Recruitment Examinations
(e) the names of the Departments, where the finally selected candidates are to be posted and
(f) FAQ – addressing various doubts of the candidates
